Wan Qi

Qi, Wan, Architect AIBC, had over 31 years of experience with Joe Y. Wai Architecture, Inc., under the firm’s late principal, Joe Y. Wai, before acquiring the firm in 2016. Wan Qi earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Southeast University in China. She continued her studies and worked in Paris where she attained her Architect’s designation of DPLG. Upon immigrating to Canada in 1989, and subsequently interning with Joe Y. Wai’s firm, she registered with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia. She is now principal of the firm, JYW Architecture Inc., and carries on the grand Ho-Ho lunch tradition with her staff.
Peter Tang

Peter Tang, Senior Technologist, holds a Master of Architecture degree from Tunghai University and is a registered architect in Taiwan. Upon immigrating to Canada in 2004, Peter initially worked as a carpenter. He attained invaluable experience in construction; in particular, working with wood-frame buildings. He contributes to our Team with his knowledge of architectural documentation and Revit problem-solving skills.
Guoqing Wang

Guoqing Wang, Project manager, received his Master of Architecture degree from Delft University of Technology in Delft, Netherlands in 2008. He joined us in November 2016, bringing diverse urban planning, interior design and international architectural experience to our Team. He manages projects, while earning experience in different areas of our architectural practice. Guoqing is preparing for registration with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia.
Marilyn Mortimer-Lamb

Marilyn Mortimer-Lamb, Administrator, has had over 31 years of experience as Administrative Assistant to Joe Y. Wai, principal of Joe Y. Wai Architect, Inc. and is now a part of the JYW Architecture Inc. Team. Her experience includes: assisting in Contract Administration; editing documents, proposals, architectural drawings and specifications; as well as providing general assistance to the two architectural firms within our office.
